Se realiza el análisis de 85 pacientes con síntomas de insuficiencia arterial periférica, comparando el estudio hemodinámico Doppler con la arteriografía.
Con este fin cada miembro es dividido en 3 segmentos: aortoilíaco, fémoro-poplíteo y poplíteo distal. En los 320 segmentos estudiados con Doppler se comprueba una sensibilidad del 92%, una especificidad del 97% y una seguridad diagnóstica elevada, revelada por un índice de Youden de 0,89, por lo que el Doppler se convierte en un estudio de primera línea para el paciente vascular periférico.

Se realizó un estudio en perros sobre la confiabilidad y reproducibilidad de la ultrasonografía peroperatoria vascular efectuando distintos tipos de lesiones y suturas vasculares.
Se demostró que esta técnica incruenta es útil en la valoración de los distintos procedimientos realizados ya que permite al cirujano evaluar en el acto quirúrgico los resultados de la técnica quirúrgica efectuada y corregir de esta manera los defectos técnicos que se pudieran cometer.

A propósito de una serie de 85 pacientes arteríticos en los cuales se efectuaron 106 amputaciones de miembros inferiores, los autores estudian la evolución inmediata y mediata de las mismas. Se hace hincapie en la frecu encia de las malas evoluciones y en la necesidad de reamputaciones. Se destaca la gravedad de las mismas en los pacientes diabéticos. La mortalidad de la serie fue del 8.24º/o.

En los últimos años con la llegada del tratamiento endovascular, se ha visto una importante disminución de la morbimortalidad de pacientes con pseudoaneurismas arteriales. Continúa siendo controversial su uso en un contexto de infección.
El objetivo de este trabajo es reportar la experiencia del servicio en el manejo endovascular de pseudoaneurismas arteriales infecciosos (PAI).
Un estudio retrospectivo y observacional, incluye pacientes con diagnóstico de pseudoaneurisma infeccioso arterial tratados de forma endovascular en nuestro centro en un periodo de dos años, de junio 2016 a junio 2018.

Se analizan los resultados de 113 angioaccesos para hemodiálisis, valorando la incidencia de falla precoz en su desarrollo.
Se comprueba 18,5% de falla global, que aumenta a 33% para la fístulas humerocefálicas, 26% en los diabéticos y 22,6% en las mujeres.
Se concluye que la diabetes y el sexo femenino son dos factores que condicionan un peor pronóstico para el desarrollo inicial del acceso vascular.

1) Se describe un sistema de protección de las paredes arteriales, que evita la acción traumática de la fuerza hemodinámica intraarterial. Cuando por cualquier circunstancia este sistema. de protección arterial falla, se originan lesiones arterioscíeróticas hemodinámicas. 2) El sistema de protección arterial está representado: a) por las envolturas celulograsosas que rodean a la mayor parte de las arterias de la economía; b) en el corazón y grandes vasos, el sistema está completado por la envoltura serosa pericárdica
y la presión negativa intratorácica; c) en las arterias del sistema pulmonar, la presión negativa del parénquima pulmonar, es el principal elemento de protección; d) las arterias del sistema nervioso central se hallan envueltas en el líquido cefalorraquídeo, que a la vez constituye un medio de protección parietal. 3) La arteriosclerosis hemodinámica se produce por diversos mecanismos: a) cuando un tejido duro está en contacto con la arteria; b) cuando dos arterias están en contacto inmediato; c) en ciertos casos, en las zonas de origen de ramas arteriales que nacen perpendicularmente o en los acodamientos arteriales; d) por isquemia de las paredes arteriales, a consecuencia de la obliteración de los vaso vasorum por arteriosclerosis hemodinámicas de estos vasos nutricios. 4) En las intervenciones quirúrgicas debe tratar de conservarse al máximo posible la integridad del sistema de protección de las paredes arteriales, para evitar la producción de lesiones arterioscleróticas postoperatorias.

La anoxia prolongada de los tejidos -por isquemia- provoca gradualmente lesiones celulares, permeaciones, trasudación y edemas. Schwiegk y Schottler mostraron que al aflojar una banda de Esmarch que mantenía durante dos horas una extremidad isquémica, se producía -por grave lesión capilar- una trasudación de plasma y con ello un edema de los territorios antes isquemiados.
