La efectividad fue mayor cuando la trombectomía se acompañó de la corrección de un defecto anatómico topografiado en general a nivel de la anastomosis venosa. Se destaca la importancia de la identificación de los defectos anatómicos en la FAV, fundamentalmente con flebografía intraoperatoria, y su tratamiento concomitante con la trombectomía.
